New York’s best-kept secret

New York may not be known for kindness, but we know the truth.
GFM Logo
New York is Kind
We asked 1,021 New Yorkers to describe themselves, and only 1% said "kind." But we know the truth: every 30 seconds, a New Yorker donates to a GoFundMe fundraiser, and over 40% of the donations they've made since the beginning of last year were anonymous.

That's just how it works in New York City. New Yorkers don't expect recognition for helping others—and they certainly didn't ask for a thank you. But we think their kindness is worth celebrating. After all, it's changing lives.

Thank you for supporting your neighbors, for uplifting your communities, and for giving back, New York.

See New York's kindness in action.

This couple is bringing fresh produce into New Orleans’ Ninth Ward

Meet our latest GoFundMe hero

Meet Ashley.

True Stories of Good People - Genevieve Tai

When Ashley Webb moved her family from Los Angeles to New Orleans in 2017, it was a huge culture shock. Not only was the city very different, but the neighborhood they moved into is considered a food desert, meaning there is no immediate access to fresh produce. Wanting to change this, Ashley and her husband started a community garden—and it blossomed into something far bigger than they could have imagined.

Meet our latest GoFundMe hero

Meet Simon, Tenzin and Jessica.

True Stories of Good People - Genevieve Tai

For formerly incarcerated individuals, stable, affordable housing is the foundation of a smooth reentry into society. Unfortunately, it's often the most difficult resource for them to obtain. Recognizing this need, one San Francisco Bay Area collective—run by and for formerly incarcerated Californians—is bringing housing and other necessary resources to people who have been similarly impacted by the justice system.

How you can help Texas

We're providing help to those who need it most
GoFundMe Causes

The storm is over but the work to rebuild is just beginning

Texas stood strong in the face of last week's deadly winter storm. As the temperatures rise, the public's attention has slowly faded, but the needs are greater than ever as many are still facing food and water shortages. GoFundMe has set up a trusted relief fund to get urgent support to verified fundraisers as quickly as possible. We're working tirelessly to make sure help is quickly on its way, but the work to rebuild is just beginning — will you join us in helping Texas?

Donate Now

Donate and join the GoFundMe community's efforts to directly support Texas, like Jacqueline Garcia, who is providing emergency equipment like radios and water filters, or Stacy Epps, who is working to send truckloads of clean drinking water to residents in need.

Health care is a human right

let's ensure everyone hears this news.

At GoFundMe, we believe that access to affordable, comprehensive health care is a right, not a privilege.

Unfortunately, millions of Americans have lost their health insurance, leaving them unprotected in the midst of the worst public health crisis our nation has seen in over a century.

But, there's hope.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has established a special enrollment period.

From February 15 - May 15, people across the country can access affordable, quality health care coverage on HealthCare.gov.

We want to do our part to help more folks stay healthy and find the care they need; that is why we are spreading the news about the special enrollment period.

As a member of the GoFundMe community, we know you also believe in the power of helping others. So together, let's ensure everyone hears this message. Visit HealthCare.gov to learn more.
