New York may not be known for kindness, but we know the truth.

We asked 1,021 New Yorkers to describe themselves, and only 1% said "kind." But we know the truth: every 30 seconds, a New Yorker donates to a GoFundMe fundraiser, and over 40% of the donations they've made since the beginning of last year were anonymous. That's just how it works in New York City. New Yorkers don't expect recognition for helping others—and they certainly didn't ask for a thank you. But we think their kindness is worth celebrating.
